Protest against gang-rape in Dharamsala, CM says girl being used to 'malign someone'
Even as the cops are probing the case, Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh on Thursday said that the girl was possibly being used to malign somebody.
“It appears that whatever was there in press was an organized attempt to malign somebody,” Virbhadra Singh told reporters when asked about the incident.
“The lady concerned has been traced and she is in police custody,” the CM said.
The police, meanwhile, held a press conference and claimed that there was no evidence to prove any sexual assault.
On Wednesday, an FIR was registered and a Special Investigation Team was formed to probe the allegations.
Cops also announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for providing information about the crime.
