Amit Shah to visit Surat on May 27

SURAT: Hectic preparations are on by the city BJP unit for the maiden party president Amit Shah on May 27. Though Shah’s itinerary is yet to be announced, sources confirmed that he would be in the Diamond City on May 27.

Shah’s visit assumes significance in the face of approaching civic polls in the state. The BJP is witnessing a cold war among its leaders following long standing differences over issues related to the party functioning. Recently, Mayor Niranzan Janjhmera had drawn flak from the leadership including municipal councilors for organizing 22 programmes on his own without taking the local leadership into confidence. tnn

“This time around we are going to make a strong representation regarding the fully functional airport, modernization of the railway station and other issues concerning the industry and trade,” said a BJP leader.
